Christmas around the corner,
Sweet smell of cake hovering around.
Old couple , confined in a room
Holding hands , comforting each other
Remembering golden days of
Partying with children and relatives.
Now, all busy with their life.
Old couple,
Forlorn, depression setting in, still
Trying to count their blessings,
A little hope in their heart,
Awaiting anxiously,
A knock on the door.
Wee bit sad, but beautiful. Loved it Indira.
We can’t be positive all the times, sometimes somethings make us sad.
This brought a tear to my eyes, Indira. We must not forget the elderly at Christmas time, or any other day of the year.
When I was at Kolkata, I saw a lady 80 years old with vacant eyes, looking forward to visit from daughter. The image still haunts me.
