Sometimes in the front of me
Sometimes it was behind
Sometimes on the left
Sometimes on the right
Sometimes it was within me
And sometimes just stood outside
I thought I was bigger ard better
Far superior and tall
And it was merely my shadow
Destined to follow me after all.
But what it did to me
Was not at all fair
As I was no more
And it was still lying there
( Me and my inflated ego)
Little ego for self-esteem
Patience when you go off beam
Stubbornness when you think you are just
Politeness is always a must
Hunger for success in life
Grace whenever there is strife
Anger when someone is abused
Presence of mind when you are confused
Righteousness when there is a fight
Calmness when situation is tight
Little selfishness to make yourself happy
Peace of mind so you are not snappy
Conscience to stay away from vice
Strength when difficulties arise
methinks,
A little negativity sometimes you need
Positivity is always right
balance in qualities is necessary, what do you think?
O God ! please let me have
Jealousy, greed, selfishness,haughtiness,
hatred,cruelty and lust
as my enemies.
Ego, stubbornness, anger, hunger
mind and body
as my slaves
.Love,positivity, compassion, compatibility,
kindness,courage and righteousness
as my companions.
And You and my conscience
as my master.
AMEN.
Methinks,
When love and ego
Confront each other
Defeat of love
Would be a great sin
So ego should take a dip
And Let Love Win
