Riot

My visit to my home town after a gap of five years gave me a jolt.

The beautiful building which housed the happy, harmonious and fun-loving, joint family members of a particular community was now a ruin.

It happened when a riot took place over a minor conflict between two communities.

This was an opportunity for the miscreants from both communities to kill rape and loot property of each other.

Though ours was a peace-loving, compatible, harmonious locality, no one could save them from the fury of mindless, faceless, frenzied mob.

What heinous crime a mob can do in the name of community and religion!

About Indira

I knew all along that life is about, love, compassion, compatibility and friendship, but now I have discovered that life is also about sharing thought, encouraging others and getting encouraged. So here I am with my blogs about life, friendship, love, and whatever life has taught me.

  1. Dear Indira, More ugliness and wars with death have occurred in the name of religion than any other cause. Live and let live – God is the judge!
You wrote a very vivid tale Indira, and you are right on. Have a great week! Nan 🙂

    • Dear Nan, I have witness many riots in India mainly due to religious conflict. What is amazing is that intolerance is increasing. Thanks for sharing your views.
