I’m wondering what keeps me from writing. Why my mind blocks the moment I think of writing something. Is it that I find nothing interesting in my life to share with others or I’m afraid that others will laugh on reading my post. Though I find friends here at word press very encouraging. Still, I wonder should I torture them with my writing. Even if someone criticises it is for good as it helps you to improve your writing. One friend in fact said that while reading post he thought he was going through grocery list. was I angry? No. I thanked him for pointing it out. One more comment I got that my blog is boring. I think all comments good or bad help you. More criticism makes you try to improve yourself. I always welcome comments with tips to improve my writing. In previous session of Writing 101 few friends really helped me with wonderful tips. Also reading others blog helps immensely. I get to know that there are many ways to write a prompt. I don’t know my writing has improved or not but I have made many wonderful encouraging friends here also I get to read many excellent writing and get inspired by them. Writing for 20 minutes on this topic is very difficult. At least for me as on some daily prompt I find nothing more than just ‘yes’ or ‘no’ . I think the biggest block in writing is lack of ideas and that’s where the Writing 101 helps. It gives one prompt daily. My drawback is that I take too much time to think on the subject and when I could come up with something, I’m late by two or three prompts. Still four minutes to go. It seems I am sitting in school exams, time is running away and my mind is blocked.
Hi. I am not going to go back and read more on your blog – just forward from here on as I’d like to make my own judgements! I did not find your writing boring 🙂 I too often feel myself stoping my own process in response to thoughts like “why would anyone care what I have to say.” I try to remember 2 things – maybe they’ll help you too. 1. I am not writing for others; I am writing because I need to. 2. I am a music teacher by trade and the most important lesson I hope to teach my students is to be brave! I don’t care if they think what they create in my classroom sounds awful to them. We are always our own worst critics – it’s human nature. I try to use that same philosophy on myself. I will be brave enough just to go for it. If others don’t like it, don’t relate, don’t hear it as a song, who cares! 🙂

Lack of ideas doesn’t help! I don’t have enough ideas to blog every day, but if I push, I can manage a few days a week. I haven’t been pushing lately.

You write for yourself. Why bother about what others think?Read the comments and leave them at that.Writing for prompts and that too daily prompts may be tiresome

Thanks KP. I write for myself but then I can write a diary. Publishing means they should be readable. It’s my opinion. I don’t mind criticism it helps me. Thanks for reading.
