FOLLY
The moss-ridden place, complete with a wishing fountain attracted her. Human-like moss structures were watching her. She looked in the water and said’ I wish I could live here forever.’
Suddenly the place came alive with the sound ‘ Welcome to the moss land dear, now you have become one of us.’ Moss structures came near surrounding her.
She panicked ‘ Who are you?’
‘We are idiots like you who make all kinds of weird wishes.’
The moss started growing on her feet.
Screaming with horror she tried to scratch it away but it started growing on her rapidly.
Love it. I said to my husband only the other day to be careful what he wished for. You have just proven me to be right in saying that. Idiots that wished for weird things. Moss growing on her feet. Lovely images with good humour.

I was going to say the same thing, “Careful what you wish for.” How ‘horrifically’ funny. 😀

Wishes do come true so use them carefully. It’s a bit scary sometimes but it is a nice story.

Nice! Yes, you have to be very precise with your wishes. Your story sits within a tradition of stories that deal with that premise. I’m thinking of H G Wells’ ‘The Truth About Pyecraft’, The Monkey’s Paw’, etc. 🙂

Dear Indira,
So like life, in that we think we know what we want, When we get it we wish we hadn’t. Well done.
