Writing 101, day 14: Recreate a single day.
Magic of Hug
Only once in my life time I did a mischievous act and got punished for it. Friends did it every time ,played pranks on others and got away with it.
I pulled the chair when my friend was going to sit, she fell down. Nothing happened to her but the chair’s arm fell down too. I was summoned to Mother Superior. She calmly fined me Rs. 13 without any scolding.
When I told my mother, She paid the fine but she scolded me terribly even after me saying sorry to her and my friend, and also that it was my first mischief. Wasn’t I her youngest and pet child? How could she do it to me?
I did not eat and went to sleep early.
After some time I felt a warm drop on my cheek and a hand patting my head.
I got up. Mother was there with food and requested me to eat. In fact I was very hungry and secretly waiting for that.
She hugged me and made me promise never to do it again.
I love you and miss you maa.
~ Indira
Beautiful! It certainly has some intrigue and drama to it, but calmly laid out.

I’m also shifting to my own house next month. Hope it suits us. You have at last got a house of your liking I hope. My allergy is making my life hell since six month. Otherwise I’m fine when I take anti allergy tab. Wish you all the best. Love and hugs. Take care. Indira.

Likewise…enjoy your new home! Don’t forget to “clear” the energy when you move in.

To clear: light candles and/or burn sage and walk through each room, to the four corners, saying a prayer as you go to ask for protection for all enter the home, and ask to clear each room of negative energy and replace with positive love and peace.

M smiling. I did that once in a restaurant in Pune and the poor person fell down. I didn’t realize it but much later..the place was crowded.

Thanks for sharing. I still feel guilty about it.

This was a nice story from your youth. I like how it ended with you and your mom smoothing things over. I can relate to this because I took it very hard when I got in trouble (it didn’t happen often). I still can’t rest until I’m certain the person is no longer upset with me 🙂

Thanks. I have also faced people who hurt you and don’t mind at all or feel guilty.

I can relate to this because every time I go to bed on an empty stomach, I know Amma will bring me food. And every time I need some comfort, I know she’ll be there with her arms held wide open. Mothers’ hugs are “Jadoo ki Jhappis”! 🙂
