Being from the old school I’ll always prefer using inches in every measurement, be it for clothes or shoes or measuring anything. Measuring in the metric system is comfortable, but I still feel uneasy.
It was introduced to us when I was in class 6. Maths itself is troublesome and learning the metric system was not easy then but children couldn’t stick to their choice, there was no option but to understand it.
Still, I think that in a sentence like:
‘He/she is every inch a professional or something.’ It will seem absurd to say,
‘he/ she is every centimeter …
Does it sound nice?
Similarly, when you say,
‘move the yardstick’, will it sound nice to say ‘ move the meter stick’ or the meter stick of measuring success or safety or anything?
Well said, I heartily agree

We managed to defeat Napoleon then get stuck with the decimal system! I am so very glad t be able to divide things in 5.I need to do that all the time right? And I’m never want to divide anything in 4 am I? Or 3? God forbid! Give me duodecimal any day. Oh yes please.
