Reena’s Exploration Challenge #90

PROMPT FOR THIS WEEK

The word ‘compromise’ is just a theme. It need not appear in the piece. There is no harm if it does appear, or a synonym. The choice is yours.

——————————————————

sometimes we look back

thinking
what if we hadn’t
made the compromises
life would have been different for
better
or for worse
but
there is no use cribbing now
life
any way is a
mixed bag of
hopes and disappointments
dreams and realities
victories and defeats
triumphs and disasters
sometimes you win
sometimes you lose
sometimes you have to  run against the tide
make compromises
if need arises
just be sure it’s not alone you
who makes compromises
rules should be
the same for everyone
don’t lose your heart
don’t complain
count your blessings
be proud of whatever you have achieved
keep your composure
spine stretched
shoulders straight
heart full of gratitude
head held with pride

About Indira

I knew all along that life is about, love, compassion, compatibility and friendship, but now I have discovered that life is also about sharing the thoughts, encouraging others and getting encouraged. So here I am with my blogs about life, friendship, love, and whatever life has taught me.

  1. Both the pieces are beautiful. Regarding the first one – how can we decide that the timing was wrong? I came across the story of a Chinese farmer, who said at every event of joy or sorrow – “Maybe, it’s good. Maybe, it’s bad.”

    • Dear Reena, thanks for your comment. You need a great optimist to think like that. Ask the family of the person died in the riots or bomb blast, parents who have lost their children, windows, etc. Whereas people suffering long who want to go but go on living a painful life. Personally, my father, sister brother all passed away at the wrong age and the way my mother suffered praying for death…Everyone has his/her own experience to say about this.

      • My dad passed away at 57, and brother at 40. My 80-year old mother prays for death every day. The dog I loved most in life left me at the age of 7. The story is similar to yours.

Actually, it takes an ascetic, not an optimist to say that.

      • Forgot to add my dog, suffered too much and passed away when 2 . So similar indeed. Actually it death, I am not afraid but it’s way of coming and timing. :).Yes the right word is ascetic, indeed. . I am not bitter, just wrote for the challenge whatever came to my mind.
