Reena’s Exploration Challenge #95
PROMPT
There are two words given below, with the meaning. Choose any one and write a piece encapsulating the spirit. It is not necessary that the word appears in your piece unless you want to include it. You are brilliant if you can include both.

I doubt that human knowledge amounts to probabilities which are threatening their lives, even, let alone to certainties.
Scientists, wise men etc…going hoarse over water shortage, air pollution, plastic menace, etc. Most frightening is the grave situation we are going to face in 2020. Not that condition is good in some small cities, villages and remote areas.
Their warnings that there will be no underground water in at least 5 major cities is falling on deaf ears.
Politicians are ready to fight over language, caste, reservation or over any issue related to the empowerment of women, minorities but not overwater crises.
We want the freedom to do anything we like without taking responsibilities towards humanity and our country.
The wise man said ‘ live for the moment’
and we are readily following that.
For today’s happiness, we are ready to compromise our resources.
We would rather spend crores of money to go to the moon than solve today’s crises.
Builders are using up underground water, cultivating lands, cutting trees who cares as long as they supply money to the power mongers.
In every election pipelines to door to door are promised but if there is no water to go through these pipelines what do these promises mean.
How can you provide water if there is no water?
” The urban populace can contribute in a big way. Please be mindful: Do not waste water; get serious about rainwater harvesting and pressurize your governments to work towards better water security. WE OWE IT TO OUR CHILDREN”~ RAJENDRA SING ( Water Man Of India)

Politicians will not talk about things, where they cannot provide a solution. I see small NGOs doing bits and pieces in isolation, but a joint, large-scale effort is needed.

So true Reena. We are also to be blamed for misuse of water. Our religious beliefs for polluting rivers. No leader can do much without people supporting him/her.

Excellent essay on the politics of water and whether or not we can survive it, Indira. The part about promising pipes door to door but no water to run through them sticks out in this essay for me.
