Reena’s Exploration Challenge #106
Welcome to a space beyond the Equinox, where equality becomes a myth again! If the Sun and Moon are not equal, can day and night be? The strength of the stars and the power of perception gain importance here. It is all a matter of underlying meaning and perspectives.
PROMPT 106
Our theme this week is ‘Paradox’.
Some well-known examples are
- Your enemy’s friend is your enemy.
- I am nobody.
- “What a pity that youth must be wasted on the young.” – George Bernard Shaw
- Wise fool
- The truth is honey, which is bitter.
- “I can resist anything but temptation.” – Oscar Wilde
- “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.” – George Orwell
- “I must be cruel to be kind.” – Shakespeare
- “The earth that’s nature’s mother is her tomb;
What is her burying grave, that is Rainbow in her womb…” – Shakespeare - “The child is the father of the man…” William Wordsworth
You are free to use any of the above, other examples that you like, or invent some of your own.
I came across a new one today – All of us have a lesser number of friends than our friends do.
Incorporate the sentence in your piece – be it fiction, poetry, essay, anecdotes, memories, or any other format that you choose.
Post it on your blog, and link it up here. If the pingback does not work, please copy-paste the link. Tag it ‘Reena’s Exploration Challenge’ for easy search in the blog roll.
Enjoy a blast of creativity…
My take-
Deafening Silence
The silence is perhaps better than counter-attacks, which scar the psyche. Deeply sensitive piece outlining the architecture of a rift! Thanks for joining in!

Thanks, Reena. Not talking about those kinds of fights though. Some avoid even minor type of confrontations. Keeping mum is not a good policy always.

Well said, Indira – keeping silent is a great form of insult.
One can always manage disagreements in a mature and loving manner, instead of withdrawing into oneself to “maintain the peace”.
Peace,
Eric

So true. Silence may be golden but sometimes I hate it.

I can hear your pain and frustration, Indira. Sorry you are going through it. It leaves the relationship in limbo at best and destroys it at worst.

So thankful for your concern, dear but it’s about a close relative of mind. I should have clarified on the post itself.

YELLOW CARD
We cannot understand anything
While our understanding gets in the way.
Stop expecting what you’re expecting.
It’s time to give up.
But who is it that gives up?
Okay I give up.
Some unknown friend came by
Dropping a little yellow card
Through my letterbox today.
On one side were the words
“The words which are written
On the other side are true.”
On the other were the words
“The words which are written
On the other side are false.”
Stop expecting what you’re expecting.
It’s time to give up.
But who is it that gives up?
Okay I give up.
We cannot understand anything
While our understanding gets in the way.
