PROMPT WORD: BLANKET
The news channels are often influenced by money and power and report only the powerful rich people’s side of the story.
Recently when a narcotics bureau officer caught the minister’s son red-handed with 200 kg of ganja and refused to let go of him, even after receiving the phone call from the minister himself.
The minister with a wounded ego stooped so low that he started mudslinging on the officer and produced some forged certificates to malign his character.
Except for one news channel, all presented minister’s false allegations only.
No one cared to present the poor officer’s side of the story.
There should be a total blanket ban on this type of reporting.
Good observation. The media make us aware only of what they want us to believe. There are a few exceptions, but often it is a vile tool of the powerful and corrupt.

Even when he proves the accusations false, to what department does he apply to get his reputation back? It’s horrible, and it should be banned, but it won’t. Human nature does not change.

So true. Thankfully he has public supporting him, but how far it will help him, God knows.

I don’t trust what’s in the news. It’s one of the important things I’ve learned over the last two years.

You illustrate a very good point. We must all question what we view and read.

It is a terrible and scary thing when the truth can be manipulated and bought and sold. Too bad the father didn’t want to do the right thing as an example for his son.

The tongue is oft a dangerous weapon, and many know not where to find the truth, or sadly do not recognize it when it is presented to them.

I agree with your last sentence, Indira. We are living in an extremely disturbing and frightening world at the moment. Social media and regular news outlets are not necessarily reliable and require us to do our own research to determine the validity of what they tell us.
