Five Sentence Fiction – Abandoned

She watched her body lying on the floor like an abandoned house, her organs, heart, kidney, liver, all flying out one by one. Last to leave was her soul, looking despairingly at her.

‘Why are you all leaving me like this?’ She whined.

‘You have never respected and cared for this body, you took it for granted, and you forgot that it is an abode of God, you abused and misused it, you became a slave to your mind, you never listened to your conscience, your overindulgence in food and laziness had made us live inside it impossible.’

She woke up with a start; perspiring profusely; thank God; it was a dream, effect of all that junk food she ate last night, perhaps.

Daily Prompt- Advantage of Foresight– You’ve been granted the power to predict the future! The catch — each time you use your power, it costs you one day (as in, you’ll live one day less). How would you use this power, it at all?

The future is unpredictable and that’s what makes life interesting.

What is the use of predicting the future unless you have the power to change it?

Just knowing what lies ahead and lessen one day of your life doesn’t make sense unless it is good for you and you can change it if it is bad.

Life already is full of problems, why add more worries and lose peace of mind.

Your choices and decisions were taken today to make your future.

So take lessons from yesterday, live in today, and work hard for a better future.

Five Sentence Fiction – Fearless

Lillie McFerrin Writes

FEARLESS

They were a pack of six daredevils, studying in the same college, sharing a rented house in our locality.

Apart from participating in dangerous games, they were ever ready to help others, be it walking in the fire, jump in the water or climb the mountain to save someone, they were the pride in our locality.

Our locality leaders thought to award them to encourage other youths.

Members of the felicitation committee went to their house for some details only to found them huddled together in a corner shivering with fright.

Their object of fright was a big fat cockroach looking at them as if asking ‘ why are you afraid of a little insect-like me?’

(Based on a true incident, I witnessed on my train journey to Goa)

Five Sentence Fiction – Freedom

 FREEDOM

My dog was 15 days old when brought as a pet, kept with great care and love; still, he longed to go outside and play with the street dogs and envied them for their freedom.

When he was one year old, in his quest for freedom he escaped one day and ran outside to play with other dogs but as soon as the peck of stray dogs saw him they chased him barking fiercely, scared he ran like hell and hid in the nearby forest where his foot got entrapped in a thin wire animal trap.

Thankfully dogs did not chase him in the forest; he was very much scared, hungry, and longing for his owner’s care and love.

Somehow he managed to free himself and ran for his house where he was scolded by worried owners but given a bath, food, love, and a soft bed to sleep.

Freedom is dangerous and risky he thought, bondage has its own comfort, security, and convenience once you become accustomed to it.

Sometimes telling truth is beneficial.

‘I came to steal the gold candle stand.  I was waiting for the candle to burn out, it took so much time that I dozed off.’

The thief explained to the owner of the house who startled him by a kick in the shin.

‘You fool! Didn’t you notice the electric wire connected to it? It’s a showpiece, that melted wax is artificial.’

The owner started laughing; tears rolling down his cheeks.

I have not laughed since my wife’s death. Now run away before I call the police.’

The embarrassed thief ran out like a bullet.

                         MALICE

He looked around the room with satisfaction, perfect with soft music, dim lights and a red heart-shaped seat between I and U, to show her there were no hard feelings in spite of the separation they agreed mutually though he couldn’t suppress a mischievous laugh.

She arrived on time, looked around, saw the arrangements and responded to his invitation for the last dance.

Then slowly he steered her towards the seat and was just about to make her sit,  she quickly switched their position and forced him on the seat.

Taken by surprise he could not respond and went down the hole with the seat.

She stepped back looking at the gap and smiled scornfully as if all those years living with him had not taught her enough about him.

Hoho Returns- End of Horror

Posted on

My friend Archita  asked “how can we get hoho back to earth now. ” then she gave me a suggestion “Load-shedding after 2 mins ..so She cannot eat the half grilled apple ; she throws it away . Hoho is half burned and half-powered now..He has to stay somewhere in the middle of earth and space and has to scare birds , helicopter , flight passengers to achieve full power once again . :D . Pepe and Popo are friendless now .. and together they start making a big plan now.. 2nd story starts :) :)’

So Hi !  Archita here is HOHO back on your demand and as per your suggestions. Thanks.

HOHO Returns

Hoho, the ghost, was inside the apple, she kept it in the oven and switched it on.

Nothing happened. She remembered it was the power cut time. Cursing the electric dept. she took out the apple to roast it in the gas oven.

Knowing her intentions, Hoho fled like a hurricane, having Pepe and Popo on his tail.

They stopped when they were exhausted. They found themselves in a forest.  Cool, comforting full of trees.

Hoho said ” I am done with this scaring business. I am not going there again. “

Pepe said, ” But we all will be expelled from our community.”

Hoho -” We will form another community, there are others who do not like this terrifying other and making life hard for people. they will join us.”

They all agreed to help people from now onwards.

That is how the angle ghosts and devil ghosts community was formed.

You may have noticed, when you are in distress, without any hope, in some difficult situation, Suddenly, someone out of nowhere comes and helps you. This is Ho’s community. You have to have faith in them and they will help you.

As for the devils, beware of them, sometimes they may come in the disguise of angels, but if you are careful, you can recognize them.

CONFUSION

Posted on

On my way to the morning walk
I met a centipede
walking leisurely in the park
I asked him
“Which foot you move first”
He stopped on his way
Tried hard  but could not decide
Leaving him there confused

Searching for an answer.

I moved on
While coming back
I saw it still there,
Scratching its head
I asked it what is the matter dear
He said
“I was walking before without doubt and confusion
Now I cannot decide
Which foot to move first
And this is the cause
Of my strife.”
It eyed me with disgust and said
“Some people
Can not take a right move themselves
but are busy in creating
confusion in others life.”

GOALS

SUNDAY POST :GOAL

” It’s one of life’s great paradoxes …
Accepting with gratitude whatever life throws at us
is critical to happiness.
Yet without a goal and commitment, life lose much of its value.
The best we can do in the face of this paradox
is to play to win, but be cheerful in defeat
and ready to play again.
– Jonathan Lockwood Huie ”

My goal is to learn or try as many things as possible before I go. Sometimes I succeed sometimes  , due to my own limitations, I have to retreat . I feel frustrated and depressed for some time then try some other thing.

My only consolation is that even GOD has limitations.

Even GOD can’t put the clock back.

As I’m unable to draw and paint due to eyesight problem, its photography I have started. Inching forward, I may one day capture a masterpiece.

Hope for best.

I’ll quote Jack here-”  Efficient goal work includes recognizing and resolving all guilt, inner conflict or limiting belief that might cause one to sabotage one’s efforts. By setting clearly defined goals, one can subsequently measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals. One can see progress in what might have seemed a long, perhaps impossible, grind.”

Here are some of photographs taken by me.
