What do you see # 126 – March 21st, 2022- Treacherous Man

Treacherous Man

He takes off his mask

Presents impudently

Keep it as a souvenir

Says indecorously

To woo another innocent

He puts on a different mask

His suaveness makes

It’s an easy task

The more the merrier

Says the treacherous rat

And walks off to add

More feathers in his hat

The day he’s caught

And gets a good hiding

Hang him till death

Victims will be shouting

Just Pay Me Enough

Just Pay Me Enough

I remember so vividly the day we met

It was my interview for the job but I felt the connect

The team was so good and the promises of growth, even better

I was on the moon when I got the appointment letter

I was full of zeal and energy

To show that passion and ambition, mine and yours were, in complete synergy

I worked hard to contribute the best I could

And you appreciated it all as a leader should

Together you had said we will grow

I agreed to your every word without beating a brow

The days were good, weeks better

I worked hard to keep up with your directives in words and letter

Time flew and together we grew

Your appreciation would make us happy, at times one and at times a few

There were opportunities from your peers and foes

But we were your team and they always would get our no’s

Time changed with the slump and slowdown

But we stayed with you agreeing not to bow down

There were no raises and there were no increments

But we never looked elsewhere and stuck by you through these predicaments

Then came the pandemic that made us all shiver

But my trust in you did not even once quiver

I thought we would see the times through together

Grow out of it with our bonds yet stronger

Then came the news of redundancies and layoff

But it didn’t bother me as I thought I have the bonds of togetherness to show off

Struck me like a blow that my name was on the list

I took it in my stride as I thought you would have tried everything against the tryst

How much money you want when you asked

I was taken aback was the bond of togetherness all masked

I am not greedy don’t want a fortune

But wish you could hold my hand till the times were more opportune

Can I put a value on the gone by time?

And forget my zeal, enthusiasm, hard work of years just over a chime?

I wish you well know your monies will come as once again you reach your prime

So just pay me enough to buy back that opportune time

What’s in a wish? Do you dare to dream, to wish? This week, I challenge you to set your imagination free, unlock your heart, and wish.

I wish I could dance

But as I have two left feet

The wish remains a dream

Fun it was to walk

On crunchy fallen dry leaves

Did they whisper, ouch!

How did it get so late so soon?

It’s time for a weekly quotation-inspired image.

If the quote inspires a pictorial or wordy post from you, do feel free to link in or to pop your URL in the comments.- Debbie Smyth

“How did it get so late so soon? It’s the night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness, how time has flown. How did it get so late so soon?”

~Dr. Seuss

Unfair Play

how did it all pass away so soon

old age came before the youth could croon

how some young faces are full of wrinkles
before they are swamped with
smiles and twinkles
how did time so soon fly by
before saying a proper goodbye
how come nature is not fair to some
spring is so short, and
longest is autumn

Remembering all

Sung or unsung veterans

Fought in world war one

No lesson we learned

And indulged in World war two

World war three will ensure

There Won’t be world war four

WRITING PROMPT 112

This week you can choose one or more from a set of 10 words/phrases, to kick start your thought process. Let us see where the journey takes you. The comments often offer different perspectives and start another thread of creativity. Find time to read those and interact with other writers.

Here are the options….

  1. pockets of stillness
  2. question your maps
  3. cynical assertions
  4. lost alphabet
  5. was that really me?
  6. crumbling thoughts
  7. undulating patterns
  8. free-flowing bonds
  9. pregnant pause
  10. potential of emptiness

Pockets of Stillness

~Indira

It is so much more rewarding to understand than to feel right, even if that means changing your mind about a subject, an ideology, a person and even yourself. — Maria Popova

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #96

The two sentences for the prompt this week are fairly simple, and yet not so simple.

This is where I lost myself

This is where I found myself

————————————————————————————————————————-

Unconsciously
I entered the forest
as if in a haze
in a haste
to explore as much as I can
quickly
and in the process
got lost
There is so much to get lost
In the forest called life
I was unprepared
Didn’t know the jungle rules
When panic subsides
Calmness takes over
I turn back
I find
The way to go back is the same
which brought me here
the same will
take me to where I have started
Time wasted
or
Lessons learned
To find
I have to start  again
but this time
with consciousness

Quaint Lover

go

grow

fly in the sky

explore the world

don’t hang onto me

I’m rooted

immobile

 you have wings to fly

don’t look at me

with sad eyes

I’m bad with goodbyes

but promise to me

When you are tired

your wings weak

feel lonely

and  undesired

come back to me

I’ll always be there

waiting for thee

rest in my arms

I’ll sing a lullaby
