A Month of Mini Writing Challenges 2017-Day 23

Write a poem about an alien.  Any length.

Limerick- An Alien

When in my life  I haven’t seen an alien

How can I write a poem about an alien

Once I saw it in a movie

It looked funny but not loony

It looked intelligent and not barbarian

A Month of Mini Writing Challenges 2017-Day 20

Write a poem in under 20 lines inspired by a myth, legend or fairy tale.

Once upon a time
to live happily ever after
People used to induce in life
Love and lots of laughter
( Now they fight on minor issues)
Inspired by shortest fairy tale by D.M.Conner
Once upon a time,
in a land far away,
they lived happily ever after!
The End.

A Month of Mini Writing Challenges

A Month of Mini Writing Challenges

I stumbled upon this challenge very late. It is already 27th Sep.

The theme is –

  • Day 27 – Write a poem inspired by the theme of “home” in less than 10 lines.

Home Sweet Home

Home is where the heart is

Heart is where the love is

Love is where the compassion is

Compassion is where the understanding is

Understanding is where the friendship is

Friendship is where the compatibility is

When all these make

The four walls and the roof

Then there a sweet home is

Enchant Your Everyday: A Month of Loving the World- Flight

Enchant Your Everyday: A Month of Loving the World

Day 16- Flight

God has not given me wings

perhaps it was never intended that I fly
but to my mind
were given thousands wings
to fly above the clouds
to discover new lands
to never sit still in one place
however may I  try
with the mind of a wanderer
and the body tied to the earth
I make my life enchanting
by not to take a flight
when I see others in plight

Writing 101, day 11: Writing and not writing

Writing 101, day 11: Writing and not writing-

What do you do when you’re not writing? How do you reset and return to this dashboard, refreshed? What do you need in your day-to-day life to maintain balance-Running? Yoga? Gardening? Painting? Cooking?

My day to day life is well balanced between  three to four hours time, one in the morning and three at night when there is no disturbance ,for reading and writing, morning walks, as and when my body permits, house hold jobs, yoga exercises, breathing exercises, reading books, watching my favorite TV reality shows of music and dance.

I have assigned three to four hours time, one hour in the morning and three hours at night when there is no disturbance, for reading and writing on my laptop.

I feel fresh and recharged whenever I’m brimming with an idea to write.

I firmly believe that to keep up a balance in life always take a break.

When there is unrest or apprehension

When in life there is lots of tension

Take a break and retrospect

When you are overworked and tired

When you are stuck in old routines

Take a break and take good rest

When there is no fun in life

Life is taking you for a ride

Take a break and meditate

REFLECTION

You smile to the mirror

Mirror smiles back

You show the candle to the mirror,

It reflects light

Similarly

Our face reflects

Whatever you keep inside

Kindness, positivity and cheerfulness

Or, egoism, arrogance and negativity

Whatever you show

Comes back to you

Let your face show the purity of your soul

Daily Prompt: Unleash Your Inner Dickinson

Sometimes its just not easy to follow
“hate crime and not criminals”
When criminals kill for lust, greed and their false beliefs
When they are indifferent to
Innocent people’s suffering.

Hatred,

Killed a part of my heart,
A  part of my sweetness,
And from the pain of my wounded heart
I’m still recovering.

The Daily Post- Shadow

The Daily Post- Shadow
Sometimes in the front of me
       Sometimes it was behind

Sometimes on the left
        Sometimes  on the right

Sometimes it was within me
           And sometimes just stood outside

I thought I was bigger and better
           Far superior and tall

And it was merely my shadow
Destined to follow me after all.

But what it did to me
            Was not at all fair

As I was no more
And it was still lying there

Strength

Posted on

So you think you are a very wise woman

you let go  your children to  grow

you never interfered in their matters

you allowed them to fight their own battle

you made them tough and positive

you smile proudly on your achievements

But,

the moment you hear they are sick, suffering

all you want to do to is to hug them, cuddle them

wrap your arms around them

to hide them from all evils

you don’t want them to suffer

you want to be there always to protect them

knowing well

you will not be there forever to look after them

how love makes one weak

Or

it is your strength?          kids5
