Regret

Regret

‘No one came to visit me?’ he tried to keep straight face. As usual nurse’s answer was negative.

He was bedridden and in good hands for he has all the money to afford great care but he felt all the care he got was mechanical.

He admitted that he was responsible for loneliness as he was one of those people who believe that money can buy love, friends, care, security, and loyalty. He believed that everything and everyone has a price tag. You pay the right amount and you will get whatever you want.  He was arrogant, stubborn and never cared for anyone.  He was always suspicious of everyone.

He always wore a fierce countenance so no one could come near enough to take advantage of him and in the process he became lonely.  Everyone left him except for his servants who worked for money.  Even they left him when they could not bear his extreme cynical behavior.

Now lying in a posh nursing home, all alone, with no visitors to cheer him, he regretted, why he didn’t realize that money cannot buy true unconditional love and friendship.

The Daily Post- Leap

Leap of Faith

We were poles apart

Different from each other

In nature and looks

Like two opposite poles of a magnet

Attractected towards each other

Perhaps we were destined to come together

It seemed the whole universe

Conspired to bring us together

We bowed to the God’s will

And took the leap of faith

Friendship and love followed

Sometimes we were off the track

Sometimes on the track

Sometimes our paths were dark

Sometimes they were bright

But we were committed to keep

Our relationship firm and ever lasting

Compassion and compatibility

Made us bond together

And God set everything right

Ese’s Weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge – Intangible

I’m a believer in belief. Faith is something that works – it causes people to do things, it has results. It’s an intangible, indefinable, very real thing. And it moves people, sometimes to atrocity. And sometimes to survival.

Doomsday

Your day ends the moment
you lose hope, dreams
and faith in yourself
keep complaining
cursing your fate
blame others
and for solutions
hold at bay

Doomsday or no Doomsday.
