Candlestand

Sometimes telling truth is beneficial.

‘I came to steal the gold candle stand.  I was waiting for the candle to burn out, it took so much time that I dozed off.’

The thief explained to the owner of the house who startled him by a kick in the shin.

‘You fool! Didn’t you notice the electric wire connected to it? It’s a showpiece, that melted wax is artificial.’

The owner started laughing; tears rolling down his cheeks.

I have not laughed since my wife’s death. Now run away before I call the police.’

The embarrassed thief ran out like a bullet.

Memories

Forlorn grandmother sitting in a chair at old age home suddenly smiles, visualizing her two grandchildren, a boy and a girl playing their favorite game ‘ Mermaids in trouble’.

They took all the cushions and hid under them, s if trapped inside the sea reefs, while she, forced by them to join the game, wearing a sea diver’s mask pretended to save them.

Their favorite part was her feigning that the damn mask obstructed her view, run here and there clumsily and fall on them; they will roll over each other on the floor laughing hysterically.

How she longs for those days.

Writing a story in 100 words is very difficult for me but   its a very good exercise for brain. After editing a lot it comes to 107 words. I don’t know how it stands.  I would love criticism of any kind friends.

Pauper’s Delight

It was that kind of posh restaurant on water ,which,  a pauper like me can’t even  dream of entering it.

Then a board with  ‘ Pauper’s delight – Free food ‘  written on it caught my attention.   Perhaps a   tycoon   has opened it  to book a seat in the heaven , ‘ why deprive him of that’  I  thought  and sat in the corner seat near  the railing enjoying the  sea view.

Waiter  came and kept some delicious dishes and a bell written ‘call me ‘ on it in front of me.

After savoring the food I rang the bell. Suddenly  a shark raised its head near me .

‘ We call him Pauper lovingly’ ‘ the waiter  said.

‘ Nothing comes for free man ! ‘ was my last thought .

                                            FSF- Shattered Ego

My ego shattered just like the glass pieces lying on the floor.

I’m 60 years young man who looked quite young, well, in my opinion, so when I got befriended with a 20-year-old girl via Facebook, who was attracted by my funny and witty updates and comments,  I was thrilled.

She liked my wit and humor and I liked her charming jovial face, we started chatting daily and one day we decided to go out for a dinner.

At dinner everything went fine, she seemed completely comfortable in my company, enjoyed our conversation on different topics and laughed a lot at my jokes, we even enjoyed same food also.

While leaving she agreed for another date sometime next week. and said

‘ Thanks a lot for a wonderful time and the lovely dinner… UNCLE! ‘
