Five Sentence Fiction – Abandoned
She watched her body lying on the floor like an abandoned house, her organs, heart, kidney, liver, all flying out one by one. Last to leave was her soul, looking despairingly at her.
‘Why are you all leaving me like this?’ She whined.
‘You have never respected and cared for this body, you took it for granted, and you forgot that it is an abode of God, you abused and misused it, you became a slave to your mind, you never listened to your conscience, your overindulgence in food and laziness had made us live inside it impossible.’
She woke up with a start; perspiring profusely; thank God; it was a dream, effect of all that junk food she ate last night, perhaps.
