“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”– Melody Beattie

“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” -Willie Nelson

A big heartfelt thanks to all the trees for being there for years and years and years.

Prompt

Here is an intriguing picture shared by Harvey Kraft on LinkedIn.

The picture by itself can tell a thousand stories. But I am increasing the complexity a little. Here is a paragraph from another source.

So what exactly happened here? A woman felt powerless because she was unable to let go of a story she was holding onto which made her a victim. Even though she no longer saw this man, her former lover, she carried him within, and over and over again inside was keeping this version of the story alive.

TILL DEATH DO US APART

It seems there is no strength left in me.

I feel completely exhausted.

I can’t go on like this, I want to quit.

It has happened several times in my life.

Shamefull I accept that I had wanted to quit every time I felt  exhauseted

Everytime my conscience nudged me

‘How could you quit, there is so much to do, everyone depends on you?’

I was young then so summoned my willpower and got up every time.

But now with age catching up, it seems an uphill task.

I’m lying on the floor, helpless, hoping to go…There comes an extending hand for help,

How could you be so desperate? Didn’t you promise, ‘ till death do us apart’?

Oh yes, I remembered.

Indeed how could I leave him in the middle of our journey?

He was always there to support me, never grumbled, criticized or belittled me.

What I was complaining about?

With a feeling of guilt, I grab the extended hand thankfully.

Indeed the show must go on ’till death do us apart.’

Didn’t once I advised everyone that’

When there is unrest or apprehension
When there is, in life a lot of tension
Take a break and retrospect.
When you overworked and very tired
When you are stuck in an old routine
Take a break and get good rest.
When dissatisfaction, and no fun in life
You think life is taking you for a ride
Take a break and meditate.

I forgot all my problems watching this beautiful scene and felt grateful for being able to capture this.

Weekend Writing Prompt #32 – Reflection

Challenge

Prose Challenge – Write a story in 150 words where a character sees their reflection and is surprised by what they find.

Poetry Challenge – Write an acrostic poem, where the first letter of the first word of each line spells out “reflection” as it is read from top to bottom.

REFLECTION

Reflection of inner thoughts

Escapes not

From wise eyes

Let, then,  reflect

Empathy and compassion

Care and  love

Trust and gratitude

In your eyes

Or wear the real face with courage

Never deceit with a mask

Nurturing Thursday – Thanksgiving( Beccagivins)

Gratitude helps attitude and an attitude of gratitude certainly helps
you focus and be grateful for what you have in your life.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.~ Melody Beattie

Limerick Challenge Week 7: Gratitude

Limerick Challenge Week 7: Gratitude hosted by ‘ Mind and Life matters- ( Rashmi)’

He was tyrant, arrogant and full of attitude

Never  showed anyone an iota of  gratitude

‘please’ and ‘sorry’were not in his vocabulary

‘Love’ he thought was a word imaginary

And ended up in the company of misery and solitude

Daily Prompt- To-Do? Done!

Posted on

Daily Prompt- To-Do? Done!– Quickly list five things you’d like to change in your life. Now, write a post about a day in your life once all five have been crossed off your to-do list.

Given a chance I would exchange my unhealthy body with perfectly healthy one.

Sickness is the root cause of my laziness, procrastination, depression, bad time management and ill temper and much more.

How I would like to change everything and become a cheerful, healthy, hard working person.

At least for one day I would like to I wake up without any pain, any uneasiness, very fresh and cheerful, to a very pleasant weather. I want to sing, dance, go for a walk, swim in the sea, and play with sand. There is so much I would like to do.

Just for today when I can write off all the negativity and fill my life with all the positive pleasant emotions.

I will,

Turn anger into peace

Fear into trust

Sorrows into happiness

Worry into caring

Mistrust into faith

Ingratitude into gratitude

Share peace and happiness with everyone

Pass on this day’s cheerfulness to others.

Happy Anniversary

HappY Anniversary! You registered on WordPress.com 3 years ago.

I registered on WordPress.com 3 years ago! It’s ‘Happy Anniversary!’ today.

Am I happy That I registered with WordPress.com?

Yes, very much. It has given me a chance to write about some topics which I thought I could never write with Daily Prompts especially about myself.

Writing about myself I discovered that I have some positive qualities as well as some negative also which I overlooked before.

I started writing with few lines and now I can write short stories.

I made so many friends here who encouraged me to write by appreciating posts with positive comments.

I get to read many excellent posts by other blogger friends.

Weekly Photo Challenges  helped me to  discover my love for photography.

Thanks to WordPress.com Team, and support.wordpress.com/create  to help me publish ove 500 posts which itself is a miracle for a non-writer like me and the full credit goes to WordPress.com.

Thanks a lot for reminding me friends.

I’m grateful for your help and support.

REVENGE

This abandoned shack was not always like this.

In its youth, it was an arrogant, beautiful mansion built on the vast piece of rock.

Sea waves, singing in sweet rhythm danced around it washed its feet and made it feel like a king.

It never felt that its arrogance was hurting them. It never showed gratitude or mentioned a word of thanks to them, just took them for granted.

It was not to know that these submissive, innocent looking waves could take revenge on it by slowly killing him. Its base was  receding ,its grandeur, shine was  fading away slowly.
