Writing 101, Day 5- Hook Them With a quote

Regret

‘No one came to visit me?’, he tried to keep straight face. As usual nurse’s answer was negative.

He was bedridden and in good hands for he has all the money to afford great care but he felt all the care he got was mechanical.

He admitted to himself that he was responsible for his loneliness as he was one of those person who believe that money can buy love, friends, care, security and loyalty. He believed that everything and everyone has a price tag. You pay the right amount and you will get whatever you want.  He was arrogant, stubborn and  never cared for anyone.  He was always suspicious of everyone.

He always wore a fierce countenance so no one could come near enough to take advantage of him and in the process he became lonely.  Everyone left him except for his servants who worked for money.  Even they left him when they could not bear his extreme cynical behavior.

Now lying in a posh nursing home, all alone, with no visitors to cheer him, he regretted, why he didn’t realize that money cannot buy true unconditional love and friendship. Now without love his life was like a body without soul. Cold and dark.

Writing 101, Day 3: One-word inspiration- Regret

REGRET

In everyone’s life there are bound to be some moments which one wishes one could have rectified .

Why do we regret?  When we have taken wrong decisions, we have put our faith in wrong person or we help people with expectations? 

I too have taken lots of decisions which I regret. Given a magic wand I would have rectified few of them. 

But then I think what the use of crying over split milk. What’s done is done. I try taking it as a lesson to learn and not to repeat it. Also people say that everything happens for a cause. So I wait patiently and try to see the better, positive side of it and what does it wants to teach me.

One thing is certain, I don’t regret about failure for two reasons.

1- I truly believe in what someone said ‘ You are not a failure till you blame others for your mistakes.’ I take full responsibility of my decisions. 

2-I believe that if you get what you want it is good but if you don’t get it it’s better. May be some something better is waiting for you.

One thing is sure my failures have made me stronger, more focused and confident person. 

So now I just remember them and smile and thank them perhaps they came for the same reason.
