Reena’s Exploration Challenge #Week 50

freedom 50

Freedom is when you are not compelled to laugh or applaud the silly joke told by the powerful or successful or…people or your boss.

A Fortune Teller is sitting with his caged parrot, waiting for the people to come and know their fate.

Whenever someone comes he opens the door, parrot comes out, selects a card, gives it to him and goes inside the cage.

Even if the door is open it never tries to fly away, whats more it closes it itself.

Was it for food, security or it has become habituated to living alone, loving the captivity.

Freedom is dangerous and risky perhaps all pets think. Bondage has its own comfort, security, and convenience once you become accustomed to it.

happy in their shackles
of caste, creed, and community
people never try to break away
as fortune tellers parrot
happy in its captivity
with food shelter and security
never tries to fly away

Five Sentence Fiction – Freedom

 FREEDOM

My dog was 15 days old when brought as a pet, kept with great care and love; still, he longed to go outside and play with the street dogs and envied them for their freedom.

When he was one year old, in his quest for freedom he escaped one day and ran outside to play with other dogs but as soon as the peck of stray dogs saw him they chased him barking fiercely, scared he ran like hell and hid in the nearby forest where his foot got entrapped in a thin wire animal trap.

Thankfully dogs did not chase him in the forest; he was very much scared, hungry, and longing for his owner’s care and love.

Somehow he managed to free himself and ran for his house where he was scolded by worried owners but given a bath, food, love, and a soft bed to sleep.

Freedom is dangerous and risky he thought, bondage has its own comfort, security, and convenience once you become accustomed to it.
