HUMANITY DISGRACED

When the land scam was exposed, all associated scammers  panicked. They were thinking of new schemes to save themselves. A huge fire broke out in the building where the files of their misdeeds were kept. The fire burned all the files but surprisingly bigwigs and their staff escaped. It was too big a coincidence, unbelievable, but the investigating committee ruled out the sabotage angle. When the price is right everything can be settled. The disheartening part was their indifference for the few innocent people, who were trapped inside and died, ‘In an overpopulated country a few less make no difference.’

Sony and Woofy

Sony and his dog Woofy were inseparable. They had grown together. Woofy followed Sony everywhere.

Sony pleaded to her mother.

Woofy being a special dog who can not only talk but was, in fact, even more, intelligent than Sony, so she should allow Woofy to accompany her to the school.

She dismissed it as a figment of his imagination.

‘Dogs don’t talk’, she said.

Woofy barked in total disagreement.

See! Woofy was aghast.

I talk to her, in fact, all the animals can talk. Birds and nature talk to you human beings but very few understand our language. That’s the reason for our grievance.

Five Sentence Fiction – Abandoned

She watched her body lying on the floor like an abandoned house, her organs, heart, kidney, liver, all flying out one by one. Last to leave was her soul, looking despairingly at her.

‘Why are you all leaving me like this?’ She whined.

‘You have never respected and cared for this body, you took it for granted, and you forgot that it is an abode of God, you abused and misused it, you became a slave to your mind, you never listened to your conscience, your overindulgence in food and laziness had made us live inside it impossible.’

She woke up with a start; perspiring profusely; thank God; it was a dream, effect of all that junk food she ate last night, perhaps.

PERSPECTIVE

“At least sixty percent of earthlings are mad! They are an intolerant lot. They have forked tongue.”

The Alien father was passing on his knowledge to his son while touring the earth.

“They talk of brotherhood, love, compassion and compatibility but will kill each other to prove their supremacy over who was civilized first , over color, caste, creed, over whose  culture, religion is best, or over as silly an issue as whether one is spoon person, chopstick person, fork person or eats with his hands.

We  never judge people by their food habits but by their credentials.”

This week: STRENGTH

Brainwashed

He entered the biggest shopping mall of the town, looking like the epitome of courage, strength, and vigor but all diverted in the wrong path by his mentors who brainwashed him into believing that all people who were from a different religion and ideology, who indulge in comfort and enjoyment were sinners and he will go to heaven by eliminating as much of them as possible.

He looked around cautiously satisfied himself that no one is taking any notice of him, all were busy in their own entertainment, shopping, and /or loitering around.

At first, he hesitated, this was the life he would have enjoyed but then remembered about his mission, moreover, he could not go back now as death was awaiting him either way.

Sometimes he thought of asking his mentors, why they did not accomplish the mission themselves and go to heaven but who he was to ask when they have paid a hefty sum to his parents to buy his loyalty.

He summoned all his courage and triggered the invisible explosive device wrapped around his waist.

PAYBACK

He is visiting this place exactly after one year.
Last year his wife went missing without any trace.

He admires the fog, warm hazy sunlight, and water.

‘Well,’ he thinks, ‘if a woman madly loves a man for his looks and is foolish enough to will him all her wealth, obviously deserved this…’

He hasn’t noticed the bubbles on the water forming a thick fog-like structure, stealthily coming to him. It embraces him tightly. He feels suffocated but powerless.

Before losing consciousness, he hears a whisper in his ears, ‘ you also deserve this, my love’.

“Salvation”

Fiction- By Indira- 100 words

She was arrogant, rude, and never thought twice before humiliating servants in front of others.
No servant lasted with her except all-rounder Ramu, who swallowed his pride as she paid generously but now he was also exasperated with her and wanted to quit but not without teaching her a lesson.
So when she ordered him to repair her dear synthesizer, which also had to tolerate her singing in a hoarse voice.
Ramu saw his chance.
After completing his job he patted it apologetically.
He said – ” Goodby synthesizer, and sorry, but it is your salvation too” and left the house forever.
