I was watching raindrops falling on the tree leaves and sliding down on the floor playing sliding game as we used to do in our childhood.
We siblings used to drench in the rains requesting mother to make hot pakoras and tea.
She did, after scolding for dirtying the house with mud but the fun digested everything.
Though old had taken such fun away, but we had our share of fun.
So calming down and enjoying the bicker of rain against the glass window is still so much fun.
The first shower of monsoon made me nostalgic.
I went out to get some fun and get drenched as I did in the childhood.
My neighbors, hearing me sneezing hard and shivering poured advises, like what I should do and what should I take.
Someone brought black pepper Rasam, the best cure for the cold, while the other one ginger tea. They did not rest until they made me change my wet clothes and wrapped me in the blanket.
They started telling each other all sorts of stories about how a simple cold can cause pneumonia or some other dangerous disease if not treated properly and one even recited how her distant relative died after suffering from a simple looking cough and cold.
Between all this hullabaloo one thing became clear that everyone is a doctor of some sort and my neighbors loved and cared for me their old neighbor and am not a lonely and abandoned person in this world.
