Fading Glory

This abandoned shack was not always like this.

In its youth, it was an arrogant, beautiful mansion built on the vast piece of rock.

Sea waves, singing in sweet rhythm danced around it washed its feet and made it feel like a king.

It never felt that its arrogance was hurting them. It never showed gratitude or mentioned a word of thanks to them, just took them for granted.

It was not to know that these submissive, innocent looking waves could take revenge on it by slowly killing him. Its base was  receding ,its grandeur, shine was  fading away slowly.

Comfort Zone

Loneliness is the time when all sorts of thoughts confuse one , take them to the introspection as  she  was   wondering while walking alone that  whether she has   lived her  life in a daze or else why there is so much loneliness, emptiness sometimes in her heart, in spite of being surrounded by relatives, friends, and neighbors, there was something missing in her life.

Suddenly she noticed a Fortune Teller sitting with his caged parrot, waiting for the people to come and know their fate.

Whenever someone came he opened the door, parrot came out, selected a card, gave it to him and went inside the cage.

She noticed it never tried to fly away, whats more it closed it if the owner forgot to close it.

Was it for food, security or it has become habituated to living alone, loving the captivity or simply lazy like her who never tried to venture beyond her comfort zone?

Writing a story in 100 words is very difficult for me but   its a very good exercise for brain. After editing a lot it comes to 107 words. I don’t know how it stands.  I would love criticism of any kind friends.

Pauper’s Delight

It was that kind of posh restaurant on water ,which,  a pauper like me can’t even  dream of entering it.

Then a board with  ‘ Pauper’s delight – Free food ‘  written on it caught my attention.   Perhaps a   tycoon   has opened it  to book a seat in the heaven , ‘ why deprive him of that’  I  thought  and sat in the corner seat near  the railing enjoying the  sea view.

Waiter  came and kept some delicious dishes and a bell written ‘call me ‘ on it in front of me.

After savoring the food I rang the bell. Suddenly  a shark raised its head near me .

‘ We call him Pauper lovingly’ ‘ the waiter  said.

‘ Nothing comes for free man ! ‘ was my last thought .

Lillie McFerrin Writes

DETERMINATION

In his haste to get away from the shooter, the deer ran madly up the mountain without thinking where he was going.

Suddenly he found himself on the edge, where he could neither go forward nor come back as there was no space to turn around.

He panicked as now he was an easy target but very much determined not to show his fear, just waiting for the next move of the shooter.

He was not to know that the shooter wanted to shoot him not with the gun but with the camera.

The shooter looked at the brave soul, focused the camera, clicked and turned back reluctantly, knowing well that any attempt to help may frighten the poor creature.

GOALS

SUNDAY POST :GOAL

” It’s one of life’s great paradoxes …
Accepting with gratitude whatever life throws at us
is critical to happiness.
Yet without a goal and commitment, life lose much of its value.
The best we can do in the face of this paradox
is to play to win, but be cheerful in defeat
and ready to play again.
– Jonathan Lockwood Huie ”

My goal is to learn or try as many things as possible before I go. Sometimes I succeed sometimes  , due to my own limitations, I have to retreat . I feel frustrated and depressed for some time then try some other thing.

My only consolation is that even GOD has limitations.

Even GOD can’t put the clock back.

As I’m unable to draw and paint due to eyesight problem, its photography I have started. Inching forward, I may one day capture a masterpiece.

Hope for best.

I’ll quote Jack here-”  Efficient goal work includes recognizing and resolving all guilt, inner conflict or limiting belief that might cause one to sabotage one’s efforts. By setting clearly defined goals, one can subsequently measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals. One can see progress in what might have seemed a long, perhaps impossible, grind.”

Here are some of photographs taken by me.
