Daily Prompt- Just Another Day

Posted on

Just Another Day Our days our organized around numerous small actions we repeat over and over. What’s your favorite daily ritual?

I am the most disorganized person. Even here I can’t claim to be number one. I’m sure some other person will claim the trophy for this.

Well, actually my allergy bouts don’t allow me to follow my routine.

Since childhood I was surrounded by persons ( parents and siblings)who were very well-organized and expert in routine work and I was compelled to go according to their routine.

It’s an unwritten rule, you don’t make your rules, and you end up following others rules.

After marriage my in-laws and husband all used to do work like clock’s hand. Everything perfect, on time. And poor me who was not made for all those boring routine just dragged along. No choice.

Now my mornings start with hubby calling for morning lemon tea.

I don’t want to leave the bed now. Simply because if I leave the bed, the hell breaks loose. My allergy dears. Throat, nose, eyes start itching, watering and sneezing takes over. Whereas previously I loved to go for morning walks.

I do cleaning, cooking and other small chores, try to avoid dusting. Of course with my hubby dear’s help. Now days he has become such a sweet heart, no, in fact he always was but was busy in his office work.

He does everything at a fixed time. Daily. Never gets bored.

I follow him and I’m happy, because he always asks ‘ shall we do this now?’ Enough for me. If I do not, then I’ll have to take all the responsibility and do everything on my own.

This post was supposed to be about my favorite routine.

Besides cooking, (hubby hates cooking but he will happily make the dough and bake chapatis if nothing else.)

I never liked cooking but decided that when I have to eat daily three times a day so better start liking it, and I found that it is not at all a bad job. It works like a therapy.

If you are upset or angry with someone, start kneading dough ; take out all your anger on it. Your bread/ chapatis will be fluffiest and soft. Similarly beating eggs…….good for making cakes.

I always deviate from the subject.

So my favorite daily ritual is cooking, I’m very fast in cooking simple meals/breakfasts, finish quickly and off to bed with Sudoku. I love playing it. And also my daily evening walk on the sea beach.

  1. I used to cook a lot before I became too busy. You’re right, it’s very therapeutic. But my favorite daily routine is making coffee in the morning. I like to either use a French press or make Turkish coffee, and preparing it gives me a few minutes to focus on something simple. It’s a good meditation for me.

  2. I love the positivity with which you deal the annoying allergy! it must be truly painful. Loved the pix. I just don’t love cooking… do my best but am just not one of them who loves it.

    • I also hated cooking but when left my Govt. job to look after my children took it as my another job. And thought love what you have to do. So no burden.
