I just got this my e mail. I’m amazed by the first photograph. It’s very beautiful. Is the design painted on by hand? A fabulous group of photographs for the challenge.

I went to my niece wedding. We have Mehendi/ Henna ceremony. Hands and legs are decorated with Henna paste after washing it gives beautiful red design. More Info: Henna (Arabic: حِنَّاء) is a dye prepared from the plant Lawsonia inermis, also known as hina, the henna tree, the mignonette tree, and the Egyptian privet, the sole species of the genus Lawsonia. Henna can also refer to the temporary body art (staining) based on those dyes (see also mehndi).

This is not ink work, dear it is ‘Mehndi or mehendi is a form of body art from Ancient India, in which decorative designs are created on a person’s body, using a paste, created from the powdered dry leaves of the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis). … Mehndi is derived from the Sanskrit word mendhikā.’
