Evolving: Don’t Stop the Rockin

Posted on

Writing 101, Day Nineteen: Don’t Stop the Rockin’ (Today is a free writing day. Write at least four-hundred words, and once you start typing, don’t stop. No self-editing, no trash-talking, and no second guessing: just go. Bonus points if you tackle an idea you’ve been playing with but think is too silly to post about. Four-hundred words. One at a time. Go.)

I think I’m evolving. Coming out of my cocoon. Thanks to Daily Press for their Write 101 prompts.

Introspection

Writing about myself and writing in the first person is the most difficult thing for me up to now. Now I am finding it interesting.

I’m an introvert basically, right from childhood. Sharing my thoughts, even with my close friends was very difficult for me. I was always afraid of them laughing at me, and making fun of me. My elder sister was the only one with whom I could share something. I found that sharing some part of yourself is not all that bad. It helps actually.

Writing about yourself is like doing an introspection.

Like looking at myself from a distance.

Noticing my good and bad points.

It gives room to rectify bad habits and appreciates the good ones.

When others appreciate my post it gives a boost to my self-esteem. Some people are like that only. They always need someone’s appreciation to achieve their goal.

Writing for 101 makes me free from negative thoughts about myself.

It’s like my soul is growing, I’m freeing myself from my own shackles of negative complexes.

Whether I publish my post or not just writing it’s like therapy.

Up to now, I used to read others’ writing. I never thought that I can also write.

I needed a push and I got one here.

About Indira

I knew all along that life is about, love, compassion, compatibility and friendship, but now I have discovered that life is also about sharing the thoughts, encouraging others and getting encouraged. So here I am with my blogs about life, friendship, love, and whatever life has taught me.

  2. I enjoyed this, Indira, and writing is therapy, whether we publish it publicly or not and I’m sure many of us can relate to some, if not, all of your thoughts. Great job!
