Bourgeois Sentimentality
She has all the qualities required to deserve the solicitude of the friends of animals.
She criticizes me, and people like me for still following blindly old traditions, celebrating festivals in the old style, and not being concerned about how they affect others like animals, the environment, etc.
She is full of tears for the pain I’m inflicting on my dog, or other animals with my festivities.
I, who always felt myself, a nature lover, contributing to animal and environmental welfare efforts, am on the verge of drowning in shame.

The other day, I saw her on Instagram, proudly showcasing her photographs of attending a vibrant, so-called elite wedding. Enjoying crackers, all dhoom-dhadaka, and of course, a picture of her enjoying oh-so-succulent bird biryani.
I found out that she is a member of an organization for animal protection, and misuses the funds intended for animal welfare.
It appears that rules can be bent to accommodate the privileged class.
Indira, I have come across people like her! Shame on them. Very well written.
