In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Golden Age.
If you had to live forever as either a child, an adolescent, or an adult, which would you choose — and why?
I would choose to be an adult, fully grown physically and mentally, and be able to take responsibility for my decisions.
Being a child always means being dependent on others forever. Who loves being a child and gets bullied by grownups? Or always told to shut up when grownups are talking. For a few years, it’s okay because we know that one day we will grow up and do whatever we like, make our own decisions.
Being adolescent forever is also not as tempting as adults are always breathing on your neck. Always preaching what is good for you and what is bad.
It’s better to be an adult with the innocence and purity of a child and the energy and enthusiasm of an adolescent.
Exactly my sentiments. http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/09/01/druthers/
