Prayer – What Do You See # 219

Posted on
Enchant my everyday

By allowing the light of knowledge to enter

Every nook and corner of my mind and heart

Let there be no darkness, no negativity

Only light of love, peace,

Compassion and understanding

Let there be a full understanding that

We are all kindred soul

Connected with each other

We all are soulmates

A drop of water in the desert
A drop of water in the ocean
A drop of water on the parched land
May Mean nothing
But,
A drop of kindness
A drop of love
A drop of compassion
To a parched soul, is
Worths a lot

Thanks, Sammy for The Weekend Writing Prompt #62 – Zephyr

Gentle as Zephyr

Love touches my parched soul

Longed for this moment

 Longed for this moment

Forever and forever

Fearing it eludes

Fearing it eludes

Without ever knowing

How you feel when loved

How you feel when loved

The way you want to be loved

On the seventh sky

On the seventh sky

Hoping to never come down

To the loveless world

To the loveless world

Of the harsh realities

Where no one wants me

Where no one wants me

Soul parches and yarns for someone

Gentle as Zephyr

Gentle as Zephyr

Where do you reside, in

 Dream or reality

A Drop Of Water

A drop of water, if it could write out its own history, would explain the universe to us.

Lucy Larcom

In one drop of water are found all the secrets of all the oceans.~ Kahlil Gibran

DROP

A drop of water in the desert
A drop of water in the ocean
A drop of water on the parched land
May amount to nothing
But,
A drop of  kindness
A drop of love
A drop of compassion
To a parched soul
Amounts to heaven

Screen

glued to the TV screen whole day

feeding on tasteless shows

or playing with smart phones whole day

taking selfies, filling mind with useless chatter and noises

It’s mind’s, eyes’, ears’  pollution

soul screams for silence

Writing 101,Day 14- Recreat a single day

Posted on

Thirty years ago a Monday night changed my perspective on life completely.

I was with my two children, a daughter 9 years old, and a son 7 years. My husband was out of the station.

On Friday I met a friend who promised to visit my house on Monday.

On Saturday I got the news that she was burned to death while preparing dinner for her family.

It was the third case of death by burning in my life. My school friend then my sister-in-law and now this.

On Monday morning I woke up with a start. She was supposed to come today. The whole day I was thinking of her. I did all chores as if in a daze.

I was unable to sleep at night. Frankly, I was a bit scared. What if her soul comes?

I have always been scared of ghosts and spirits.

The children were fast asleep. Oblivious to my condition. I was perspiring profusely. I was thirsty but not able to get up and drink water.

I think when we reach the breaking point our consciousness takeover and starts reasoning.

I thought why I’m afraid of her. She was my friend. I loved her. She will do no harm to me.

I gathered courage, got up, and went to the balcony. Sat there in a chair fully, prepared to welcome her soul.

Slowly I was becoming calm. I dozed off. The night passed quietly. Nothing happened.

The morning came with a new perspective. I was relieved of my fear of darkness and ghosts.

Do ghosts, witches,  demons, angels and

Spirits really exist

Or, are they figments of imagination

Your faith is their strength

The reason for their existence

If you believe

They are everywhere

If you don’t

They are nowhere

REFLECTION

You smile to the mirror

Mirror smiles back

You show the candle to the mirror,

It reflects light

Similarly

Our face reflects

Whatever you keep inside

Kindness, positivity and cheerfulness

Or, egoism, arrogance and negativity

Whatever you show

Comes back to you

Let your face show the purity of your soul
